Who are Moor2Sea?
Moor2Sea was founded in 2024 by Laurie and Jamie, two experienced outdoor adventure instructors with over 15 years in the outdoor industry between them. Having guided and instructed coasteering, climbing, mountaineering, paddle sports, mountain biking and bushcraft for a host of other providers around the UK, they came across an issue…
The majority of providers offer a taster session, which is fantastic for introducing people to some amazing adventures, particularly coasteering. However, when it came to skill development and pushing personal boundaries, the number of options was dramatically reduced. With Moor2Sea we wanted to not only offer these taster sessions, but really push the development of your skills, giving you the knowledge and opportunity to take on some of these adventures in your own time.
Hop on one of our sessions or give us a phone call, we’d love to have a chat with you to work out how we can help you in your journey to your ultimate adventure!

Laurie
What does Laurie say about himself?
Hi, I’m Laurie, one of the co-founders of Moor2Sea. I started my adult life as an unsuccessful gymnast, and went on to trying my hand at hospitality, construction, and even did an extremely short stint in recruitment. Thanks to a happy accident, I fell into this industry head first and haven’t looked back since. I’ve been incredibly privileged, working all over the world with some fantastic people, delivering a huge variety of sessions in some pretty wild locations, but always felt drawn back home. Starting Moor2Sea with one of my favourite humans on the planet, sharing the beauty and power of our home turf with people looking for an adventure is something beyond even my wildest 10 year old dreams.
What does Jamie say about Laurie?
Loz is a bit of a legend, there’s a reason he’s the guy I wanted to start a business with! We’ve had some epic adventures together, coasteering, climbing or kayaking, he’s the guy you want next to you, easy to trust and you know he’ll have your back in any environment. The other thing about Laurie? He’s a human spaniel, always ready to have fun, go for one more jump or chase a squirrel… THAT is what you want in an adventure buddy, total trust and endless fun!

Jamie
What does Jamie say about himself?
Hello! I’ve been obsessed with the outdoors and having adventures for as long as I can remember, I started climbing when I was 8, kayaking when I was 13 and I’ve been semi feral since I was born. I started working in the outdoor industry at 18, gaining qualifications and experience along the way, I love the feeling of being in a challenging environment, but knowing that I’ve got the skills and abilities to manage myself safely, and I love sharing this feeling with others, teaching them the skills to experience it for themselves. Moor2Sea is a bit of a love child for me, it’s the vision I’ve had from before I started working in the industry, I just didn’t quite know how it would form until Laurie and I started brainstorming.
What does Laurie say about Jamie?
Where to start? The seemingly endless vault of knowledge that Jamie has in his head is spectacular. He took me under his wing even before I got into the industry, and has taught me invaluable skills and stuck by my side the whole way. The love he has to share, the words of advice, and all the support are reasons why you want this guy next to you in any situation, whether it’s just ordering a pint or you’re standing at the top of a heavy rapid with only one line down. Pick his brains when you can, feed off his energy, and enjoy the adventure with one of the best blokes around.

Coasteering Venues
The sport of coasteering is all about the geology along the coastline, it needs a certain rock type, a certain aspect and swell direction and ideally, some nice sunny south facing routes! Luckily, South Devon is an absolute mecca for exactly that, we’re spoilt for choice with venues like Ansteys Cove, Gara Rock, Daddyhole and Maidencombe all on our doorstep! We might be biased, but South Devon is a world class destination for coasteering and we can’t wait to show you exactly what makes it such a fantastic adventure location!

Hill walking and Expeditions
We might be a bit biased… Well, very biased! But we really do know how lucky we are to be based in Devon. We’ve got Dartmoor on our doorstep, the only place in England and Wales that you are allowed to legally wild camp! The wildness of Dartmoor has both attracted and unnerved people for centuries, that’s why we love it! Your expedition is run by a qualified Mountain Leader, so you’re in safe hands to experience this incredible landscape.
